Day Two Annapolis area visiting Washington, DC

We started the day getting up at 5:30 to observe the lunar eclipse.

We drove to Washington DC , you can see Washington Monument in the background

It is very impressive and we got tickets to go up at 2:30 PM. If you want tickets get there at 8 am in season, we got ours at about 10 am and this was the only time available.

Thought I would pick up a new bill off the press.

It is really hard to do this.

Since we had 3 hours before our Washington Monument tour, we walked over to the American History Museum. They were featuring the New York Worlds Fair with a 1964 Mustang.

The exhibits are fantastic.

There were a lot of clay people

Becky was waiting for the school bus with some clay people.

Becky said this looked like her when she was little.

The clay people were lined up for a trolley so I joined them

They were even at the train station. The exhibits were life like and made you feel like you were there.

Our time to go up the monument was here.

The circle of flags were neat.

Finished our day at Skipper's with oysters and a salmon salad.

Travel from Cape May, NJ to Annapolis MD

Tweety at his resting stop for 4 nights. Duncan Family Campground, look at the ratings before you camp here. We have camped here 4 times and they are having issues, but it is the closest to Annapolis and very close to Washington DC

Annapolis is a pretty little town, well not tool little. The next few pics will show some of it.

Day two Cape May NJ

The lighthouse at Cape may is very pretty.

Last time we were here we went up the light house.

We did not realize what a bird watching area this is, but there were fifty people watch birds here. Cape May is the jumping off spot for birds going to South America.

Our own bird watching ;was successful. We found a Tweety Brid in a cage. This is a very rare occurrence. Tweety birds are usually found on TV and movies only.

Bird watching is very important.

The lighthouse with the sun behind. This makes a very nice end of the day.

NYC to Asbury Park and then to Cape May and One month on the road

The sunset was beautiful yesterday evening.

The moon was about half, shown in the upper right side. Or maybe that is a UFO?

The lights of the city are magical.

We will miss NYC until next year.

I always wanted to go to Asbury Park. At least they would know how to spell our last name.

Maybe we belong here, NOT.

It is cool seeing your last name everywhere. Thanks Francis Asbury for making our name famous.

The campground was large and very nice. This one cost 1/3 what the one in NYC cost.

Our Campsite for the next few days.

In Cape May we had to go to the fish market. You can order fresh fish and eat right on the dock.

There was at least 10 fishing vessels docked here.

This shark made a bad turn.  More exploration of Cape May tomorrow.
