Travel from Huntington Beach State Park SC to St. Augustine FL

We left Huntington Beach State Park close to Myrtle Beach at 5 AM. We always like to get the next campground before 1pm. We hit Charleston at 7AM and barely missed the rush hour.

When you travel RT. 1 just north of St. Augustine the railroad is next to the road. As we were going down the road a train passed us with an angry looking Frosty The Snowman. Is this a sign?

We were completely set up at 1:22 PM and headed toward one of our favorite restaurants, Conch House. You eat in a tiki hut on one pedestal, many over water.

You can see the St. Augustine lighthouse in the background.

We enjoyed local shrimp in a couple of dishes.

The Conch House has alligators in a pen.

Thought this boat's name said it all.

A storm was coming in as we were heading back to Tweety
Tweety's resting place for three nights at Anastasia State Park near St. Augustine

We have been coming to this campground for 43 years, in fact we came the Christmas after we were married in 1971.  That same year Tweety would have been brand new. Glad someone bought him and took good care of him for us.
